Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be played in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, using a web connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the highest combination of cards as you can in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to pick the most money-making game each time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
