Video Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards she would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are able to select the most beneficial game every time.
As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Further, some versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which case a further hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
