Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through an Internet connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has selected which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are able to choose the most profitable game every instance.
As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
