Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be wagered on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, through an Internet connection. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest assemblage of cards achievable in order to win money. On this account it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the enthusiast has chosen which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that experienced players are able to select the most money-making ones every time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their profits, in which situation another hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
