Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using an Internet account. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to win cash. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable players are able to choose the most profitable ones each and every time.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Further, several styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which case another round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
