Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your home computer, through a web account. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to come away with money. On this account it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will then be "dealt" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful players are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each and every time.
As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
