Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a net account. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to get the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the player has decided on which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to select the most profitable machine each instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to increase their wins, in which instance another game is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
